Life and Death of A Party
All it took was a few drinks
or maybe it needed some more
regardless, the party was born
its heart and soul beating along
to the rhythm of the music
as everyone hustled to the floor
trying to grab an inch of space
to gyrate and dance and touch
it's in that small space between inches
where the void exists, thrives
that only human contact can fill
and so, they dance and flirt
and fight and fuck with each other

They made their entrance into the club
And there they sat, basked in Paris moonlight
The party was just getting in the beat of the music
The DJ was spinning a new track
And everyone was loving the rhythm
Just dancing like the world was ending
A few dancing queens and John Travolta wannabes
and a mix of street dancing inspired by step up
Bartender! another martini please, shaken then stirred
